There are many challenges faced in effective Information and Communication Technology (ICT) implementation for rural development. This book is a research result of theprogram "The Information andCommunication Technology (ICT) inEducation for Rural Development(iERD)" that was initiated in 2012 bythe UNESCO International Researchand Training Centre for RuralEducation (INRULED) along with itsthree other partners―UNESCOSector Policy Advice (UNESCO-PAD)and ICT in Education, InternationalInstitute for Capacity Building inAfrica (IICBA), and Beijing NormalUniversity-R&D Centre forKnowledge Engineering (BNU-KSEI).
