Volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the Drawing Mentor series are contained in this book. These are beginning lessons that will help you learn the most basic drawing fundamentals from the ground up.
If you're new to drawing or want to improve your basic skills this is the book for you. Volume 1 is an introduction to basic drawing materials and explains some of the pros and cons of each. Volume 2 covers lines and shapes and how to use them to create very basic drawings. Volume 3 is an in-depth lesson covering perspective, tone, shading, and highlights to create objects that look three dimensional. Each topic is explained thoroughly and examples are given. Opportunities to practice are included to help you master the skill taught in each section. These lessons should be completed before moving on to more advanced lessons in later volumes.
The Drawing Mentor series of books is intended to help beginning to intermediate drawers learn and improve their drawing skills. With multiple books, each focusing on different aspects of drawing, it gives the reader the ability to pick and choose the lessons and skills they would like to learn.
The earlier lessons in the series are very foundational, designed to improve the reader's technical ability and understanding before going on to later lessons which are more project-based and written assuming technical skills have already been developed. If you're an absolute beginner it's recommended that you proceed from Volume 1 as that will ensure your understanding of how to use the techniques employed in later lessons.
