The saddle (AKA cross ashi, inside sankaku and honey hole) is an iconic leg lock position which is primarily used to attack the inside heel hook. This position offers several advantages in that counterattacks are difficult, handfighting counters are nullified, and you can attach to the secondary leg to create a stable position.
