Description
A glimpse bout the TFCCT-Flows Crash Course is a small but intensive course that is tailored to provide you with an efficient way to run simulations with the general-purpose code T-Flows. T-Flows is an open-source computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program for the simulation of turbulent, single, and multiphase flows. The numerical method is based on the collocated finite volume method on unstructured arbitrary grids and turbulence models include a range of Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) models, large eddy simulations (LES), as well as hybrid RANS-LES approach. It is written in Fortran 90 and uses Message Passing Interface (MPI) for parallel execution. Expectations?!Through this course, you'll learn more than just running CFD software. The following will be covered: Basics of Command Line Interface (CLI)Housekeeping: Environment setup and prerequisitesIntroduction to code structure Compiling the code in both serial and parallelRunning your first T-Flows simulation - Laminar flow case Turbulent flow case - 2D Impinging jetMulti-domain simulationTransport of species (passive scalars)Dispersed flow simulation: Lagrangian Particle TrackingPost-processing results using ParaViewIntended Acquirable Objectives Gain hands-on experience with CFD simulations using a 100% open-source framework Develop valuable skills using highly accurate and robust CFD software Connect with top experts in the CFD world from different engineering respects Boost your opportunities to be hired by the top-tier companies in the field
